9am has a interview with Mike, he said he admitted that he did not know much about Romania but he knows some of it’s sports athletes. He knows that soccer is the main sport in Romania and haven’t been watching any matches and that’s why he hasn’t heard of Romania’s renowned soccer player, Georghe Hagi. However, he knows about Nadia Comaneci and how famous she is. Speaking of the concert at Romexpo, he said fans in Romania can expect two or three songs from the new album and those who come to the concert will be surprised.
In a interview with Gazetta Sporturilor, Mike said he did know much about Romania except Count Dracula and Nadia Comaneci. He said he does watch soccer on TV but not all the time, he’s not a fan of any team but the band will be following the Euro 2012 whenever they can. He mentioned that Phoenix is very passionate about soccer and follows the matches closely. He said the same thing about Hagi and Nadia. To the fans, he said he can’t wait to see them in concert in Bucharest and play a show that they will never forget. On a last note, Mike said, “Soon we will prepare a surprise and we will release an album with the best songs of Linkin Park in the last decade.” Update: Regarding that last note, Mike has tweeted saying that there’s no greatest hits album in the works.

Rock FM talked to Mike before the concert, the interview is not online yet. Update: The interview is now online, MSC has the translation here.
