Jakarta, June 12 2004

I stay in Bandung which is 3 hours from Jakarta by train. I went to Jakarta on Saturday, and my train arrived late in Jakarta. My friend called me when i was still in the train. “Hey you know i saw them in our hotel, they had a press conference and hurry up, you're still not here yet?”. Aghhh why my train was late?? stupid train. I arrived in Jakarta and went to the hotel which i stayed with my friends. And they said, too late they are already in their room. There were sx of us including me. One of my friends said that she picked up Hahn's softdrink from the press conference room..LOL she was so insane. errrr…..

At about 7 pm, one of my friends opened the hotel's room window and we had a great view because we can see tennis court and swimming pool. And suddenly one of my friends said,”OMG looked at the tennis court, That's Rob, isn't it? We weren't sure at first. We rushed to the tennis court, my friend took Rob's pic when he was plaing tennis, but it was too small because the bodyguard wouldn't allow us. We just watched him play tennis, then when it's over,one of my friends talked to him. And I heard my friend said to Rob that they would meet again tomorrow at meet and greet.

Oh ya on that day LP members (except Brad) had dinner in a Thai restaurant. They received 8 Platinum Awards for the Meteora Album and a special award for selling over 1 million copies in Indonesia. Each of them received special gift, a “Pandawa Lima Award” , luxury plaque which consists of Leather Wayang (Indonesia's traditional puppet).

Jakarta, June 13rd 2004 (The concert)

I woke up early morning, and prepared myself for the concert. I had breakfast with my friends in the hotel's restaurant. We hoped to meet LP members there but i think they had breakfast in their hotel room. We only met the crews of LP and i think they were really nice people. We said Hi to them and they replied, heheh maybe they recognized us.

When we arrived at the Pantai Carnaval beach, it was crowded. The gate would be opened at 11 am and it was still 10 am but there were already alot of people in the front. There was a banner containing rules like what is allowed and what is not in the venue, no drinks and foods, cellular camera, digicam, handycam, and OMG no moshing. The first gate opened at 11 am. Then we moved to second gate and had to wait for about another hour, the police checked out bag first before we would enter.

I asked the promoter's crew (Nepathya) about the meet and greet and they didn't know anything about LPU, I showed them the confirmation email from LPU and they told us to wait and we waited for another hour. Then we were let in and had to wait for another hour and half. When the band arrived we were given the passes. Indonesia has 17 LPU members attending the meet and greet, the rest are contest winners from magazines, TV, etc. Children, teenagers and adults were seen at the meet and greet. I think it was about 50-60 people there and the meet and greet started around 2:30 pm

The meet and greet was held outdoor. The members sat under a white tent. I was so excited and nervous to meet them, then came my turn. First I asked Mike to sign my drawing on a black paper, I gave him a sliver marker for him to sign. Mike said, 'You made this? this is nice', I was so happy and said thanks.

Next was Phoenix, Mike explained to Phoenix that he had to sign on the drawing with his name on it, I made 6 drawings for each of them to sign.

Next was Joe. I gave Joe my drawing which is framed and quite big. Joe was surprised and said I was a good artist. I was so excited. Then he asked me what media I used, I said I used 'Rotring'. Uhm, he didn't know what that was, I just said that it was a milipen's brand and I said to him that I was an interior designer. He said that was nice. I asked if I can take a picture of him and my drawing, he said yes (you can see the pic that I sent you). After that I asked him if he's still involved in the "King Rat" movie. He smiled and said, 'I'll try', that was so funny.

Next was Brad. Ah, yes, speaking of Brad, my friend said while I was talking to Joe, Brad was staring at me and the drawing that I gave to Joe. My friend said, 'Hello Brad, are you okay?' Brad was surprised then smiled to my friend and signed her stuff. Then Brad signed mine and I asked him to smile. Nice smile Brad.

Next was Rob and he signed my drawing too and I took his picture.

Last was Chaz, he signed my drawing and I said to him that he has nice hair. He smiled and said thanks. That was my meet and greet experience. I was kinda nervous because that was my first time.

After meet and greet me and my friends rushed to the field. I was in the VIP standing A area. I told you the promoter sold 3 categories of tickets. First VIP standing A located left side of the stage, VIP standing B located right side and Festival, located at the back. Before the show began there was a DJ scratch. And at 4 pm LP members came on stage.

Their first song was 'Don't Stay'. Wow all the fans were screaming and jumping but unfortunately moshing and crowd surfing were not allowed. Chaz stopped singing immediately when he saw many fans fainted. He said, 'hello Jakarta, it's a pleasure to be here, you all are so enthusiastic, if someone falls down you pick him up because all of you are friends." Chaz was very patience with the fans. While Chaz was talking the other band members were busy throwing water bottles because they knew it was hot. And I saw Joe talked to the crew to ask the fireman to spray water to the fans. The concert was held in the afternoon and the weather was so hot and LP understand it and really care for the fans.

Then they performed some popular songs like “Somewhere I belong”, “Numb”, “Breaking the habit. Chaz also played guitar, his was a red PRS guitar and Mike was a green Ibanez guitar then Rob played drum solo. That was so amazing to me. Oh ya, during 'Breaking the Habit', Chaz sang the first verses with just Mike on the piano, I think he wanted to prove that he wasn't lipsync.Then they continued with other songs like “Crawling”, “In The End”, “With You”, “Runaway”, Points of Authority” and “Papercut”. Well i heard some songs from reanimation like “It's going down” but only the medley mix (should listen carefully). All the fans sang together with them. They knew all the songs, I couldn't hear Mike's voice. And then they performed 2 special songs for Indonesian fans. They were “Step Up” and Nine Inch Nail's song. Wow that was so amazing. And during 'A Place for My Head' Chaz picked a boy from the audience to sing with him. Wow that boy so lucky. Chaz asked the boy to lead the fans to sing “You try to get the best of me” part. All the fans sang the songs. At the end of the show they performed “One Step Closer”. They asked all the fans to jump and sing with them. Well of course the fans jumped and screamed without being asked. Yah and after the show they still threw water bottles for us to drink, sprayed water and threw their towels, drumstick (one of my friends got that drumstick), Mike threw his Gatorade, and I saw Joe used his handycam to record the fans. Well i really enjoyed the show. Those guys totally rock.

After the concert we went back to the hotel separately, me and my friends got separated at the concert but fortunately we meet in the hotel. I was in the hotel lift with my friend who got to talk to Rob at the tennis court, suddenly when the lift opened, guess who we saw?? OMG Rob again! with his bodyguard. We just stared at him without saying anything. Rob just smiled at me and my friend and he looked like he wanted to play tennis again. I think he's a sport addict because LP had just finished the show and he should take a rest. We didn't see him at the tennis court so we decided to go back to our room. We waited for the lift and when the door opened LP crews went in with us. My friend asked them, 'are you all LP crews? they said, 'are you kidding? we work for LP' and then my friend said 'the concert were totally awesome, thumbs up'. They asked, 'you both saw the concert?' I said, 'yes of course, we are LPUers'. They were so happy and said, 'really? that's good' and they gave us 4 guitar picks signed by Mike. We were so excited and thanked them.

At midnite, me and my friend walked around the hotel club. When we walked pass the bar we saw Phoenix and Rob watching a Euro game, we couldn't go in because the security wouldn't allow us. Too bad, we could only watch them from the front door.

Jakarta, 14th June 2004

I heard they would leave the hotel at 10 pm. So before that i decided to go to the spa for awhile. i went there with one my friends. My other friends had breakfast. Ah i was so upset to learn that they left at 8.30 pm while I was in the spa. Yeah my other friends saw them left the hotel and they waved to the LP members. And i heard Mike signed autograph for the fans before he left. Fortunately one of my friends got that on camera but it was blurry because the bodyguard wouldn't allow us to approach them. My lucky friends got to say goodbye to LP and they waved to my friend, I thought that was nice and I hope they could come here again.
